1 Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:1 & 16

I will never forget watching that elk jump the downfall as he ran under the rim rock and over the top of the ridge never to be seen again. It was quite disheartening considering that we had hiked into Hells Canyon, hunted for six days without a shower and today was our last “shot” at it. After seven shots the elk was gone and our hunt was over.

When something is lost it is gone-forever. To recover something lost takes nothing short of a miracle. We need a miracle to recover the lost identities of men in this nation. Along with the heart, the identities men in our country disappeared somewhere between the Industrial Revolution and the Feminist movement.

Men have lost their way.

In a recent meeting Stu Weber shared, “When you win the men you win the family. When you lose the men you lose the family.”

Without the heart to fight for it he wanders aimlessly forcing his wife to lead, anticipating the next day off to overindulge in his hobby, and lounging on the couch with controller in hand.

The man who’s lost heart is a casualty to his family and gender. Like my Hells Canyon elk disappearing over the rim rock, men seem to have lost the energy to pursue, that which has been taken from them.

Let’s rally for the hearts’ of men. Let’s declare war, together, over the greatest asset this nation has ever known-its men. If you win the man everyone wins. If you lose the man’s heart, everyone loses.
