He was a man of integrity and feared God more than
most men do. Nehemiah 7:2
I love the story about
a man who went through the drive through restaurant and was accidentally given the
wrong bag filled thousands of dollars of the day’s sales. Realizing this he turned returned the money
in exchange for his meal.
Amazed, the store
manager said, “I have not seen such integrity in years. Wait here while I call the news to come down
and interview you.”
“You can’t do that.”
He whispered, “You see, the woman with me is not my wife!”
Integrity is the
state of being whole or complete.
The New American
Standard Bible translates integrity as “faithful”. 2 Timothy 2:2 reads, “And these thing which you have
heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men,
who will be able to teach others also.” The
Great Hunt for God is based on this kind of integrity. Pour your life into men
of integrity who serve as an example of a godly man.
The man of integrity
is a whole man.
He isn’t like most
men. He is different. Speaking of Hananiah, Nehemiah 7:2 confirms this, “(Hananiah) feared God more than
most men do.”
Can other men say
that about you? Do those who know you
the most bear witness that you fear your God?
How about those who know you the least-those at work, those involved in
your hobbies, you neighbors?
Does integrity fill
into all of your life or is there a secret fracture that only you know about?
