The Sex Myth

Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
                                                                                      ~Hebrews 13:4

I was talking to a middle-aged man who bragged that his single life was more fruitful and fun openly sharing that he’d had sex with over 200 women in his lifetime.  He leaned back, smiled, and awaited my frigid Christian response. After a dramatic pause, a victorious grin erupted on my face as I spoke the cold, hard truth into his eggshell of a life, “I’ve made love to one woman two thousand times.”
His countenance changed, he slumped his shoulders in defeat at the brilliant fulfillment of God’s promises regarding sex and marriage.
Let’s dispel the myth about sex and manhood for the last time. Just as having as much pre-marital sex will make you a better lover in marriage is a crock of bull, bedding more women does not make you more of a man. It only makes you less of a catch for a woman with high standards of biblical truth.
A Dartmouth College survey reported that the happiest people on the planet are those to have the most sex. And other studies have shown that those who have the most sex are—wait for it—long-term, married, committed, monogamous couples, who have on average 30% more between-the-sheets- actions than singles. And I promise you, the godly men I know have way more sexual encounters than their single, secular counterparts.
God’s way is the best way. Period. The media is a liar. Your buddies are ignorant. The porn industry is just another Hollywood act.
When the sacred covenant of marriage is held in highest honor, and the wedding bed remains pure (Hebrews 13:4), the art of lovemaking over a lifetime is truly mastered. I proudly say I’ve been faithful to one woman since I gave my life to Christ. Being true to my wife is one of my greatest accomplishments thus far in life.
On faith I claim the proverbial truth written thousands of years ago and is as true today as it ever was or will be: “Let her (the wife of your youth) breasts satisfy you at all times; Be exhilarated always with her love.”
Boasting about the one woman you are true to is the only number that matters to a real man.
