Sin in the Camp

But a man of God came to him and said, “O king, these troops from Israel must not march with you, for the Lord is not with Israelnot with any of the people of Ephraim. Even if you go and fight courageously in battle, God will overthrow you before the enemy, for God has the power to help or to overthrow.”
~ 2 Chronicles 25:7-8
Sin in the camp creates a dark cloud over the believeror church bodyregardless of resources or vision (Joshua 7:11). Sin in the camp jeopardizes God’s blessing.
Under the leadership of Amaziah, Judah was ready to fight. We read that they were “strong in battle” yet God was about to “bring them down before the enemy” (NASB).
Why? Because God removed His blessing. Leaders take pride in their ability to build momentum in a movement of God. It’s tragic when God removes His hand from that movement due to hidden sin. It soon becomes an organization dependent on emotional gimmicks and hype more than ruthless trust in the Creator of the universe.
Trust me. I’ve seen it before.
God isn’t needed if large crowds are a church’s primary goal.
When we fight for God’s movement, our weapons are not of this world. We can’t win spiritual battles with worldly weapons. It’s God who “has the power to help or bring us down.”
When partnering in God’s work, look for those who are sold out for the cause of Jesus Christ and white hot for Him. It’s better to have average men with passionate hearts, than great men with average hearts. I’ll take big-hearted men every time.
God can turn average talent into championship performance by His blessing alone!
Look at your inner circle. Are they passionately pursuing Him?

Look at your life. Is there sin in your camp that’s robbing you from God’s blessing?
